About
WHO AM I
I like to think of myself as introverted, but the more I grow an evolve, I can definitely step into both shoes.
On one hand, I love playing in excel, doing research on finance topics, reading books, and putting my headphones in at the gym and getting after it for an hour.
On the other hand, I love playing team sports, grabbing beers with friends, sharing my finance knowledge, and helping other people.
I can acknowledge that I’m not an expert on everything, but if you give me enough time, I’ll get damn close to that level through pure bullheaded stubbornness and a desire to provide someone with the best information possible.
HOW I GOT HERE
I started my journey by receiving my Business Degree from Mount Royal University with a major in accounting and a minor in finance. That undergraduate degree is what first sparked my love for personal finance.
From there, I went on the long, difficult route of getting my CPA. That process took 3 years, and during that time, I articled with KPMG where I worked on the audits of some of the largest financial institutions in Canada. After 3 years, I transitioned to my current role with Drax, where I deal with the financial modelling of development opportunities across North America.
During this time I learned more and more about personal finance and experimented a lot with my own finances. I also came to realize that this knowledge should not just be for people in my profession, as I believe everybody deserves to understand and take control of their finances to achieve their goals and live their dream life.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We will probably have a love/hate relationship. We’ll have long discussions about your goals, where you see yourself in the future, and we’ll get into the weeds of your finances. Throughout this, I wont bullshit you and I’ll work my hardest to help you reach your goals; but I expect the same no bullshit, hardworking mentality in return.
